Christmas music performance!

Ngarie and Leister came to work today for an afternoon of music before Christmas! 

Secret Santa

Today we opened our secret Santa presents, I got a really cool red hat! 

Christmas

we had a really awesome Christmas party at Trinity Warf Hotel. we had a dinner, lots of music, puppeteers and a performance from a cook island group who sang traditional songs and did dancing for us. it was awesome!

Food bank baking

I helped to finish up making the chocolate chip biscuits to donate to the Foodbank. I had to taste one to make sure they were suitable. He hee! 

Water art

I had fun yesterday trying a new art project using water to reveal a picture. I liked being able to hold a big brush to paint with.

No bake baking

In cooking session, I helped to make some Anzac bliss balls. They smelt really yummy. I was really happy. 

Art gallery

I went to the art gallery with my friends, there was such a lot to see.

katikati museum

today we went to katikati museum where we dressed up made butter and made scones as they would have back in the olden days

Fire service

We had the fire service come and visit. I had a turn using the hose.

The highland games

Last week we had a very fun event at the centre. we hosted our first Highland games. we were put into teams to compete. I was in the green team! we played table tennis, balloon volleyball, the egg and spoon race and gum boot throw! we did so well. 

The big 3 0!

Today we celebrated my 30th birthday with a Frozen themed cake and the Highland games!! All my friends and I LOVED the cake!! 

Art

I pressed a foam star onto paper to put on our fireworks canvas.

Music session

My friend Mark was making a drum beat in time with me shaking the shaker! I had great fun!

Hungarian Potato Salad

Today I made Hungarian Potato salad with my friends. The mustard smelt very strong, but I liked the smell of the finished product! We used fresh parsley and chives from our garden.

My painted Sun Rock

Part of my new goals are to have fun in the sun, and in arts and crafts I have just finished a lovely painted rock with a war smiley sun on it. I will put it into the garden at the centre so I can enjoy it when I venture out in warmer weather! 

Microwave magic

I made pavlova in the microwave today 

Music

Today I had fun playing the piano with my friends. We were listening to the Bee Gees and playing the drums,the piano, and the ukelele, just like a real band!

Hand soak

I have a lovely hand soak in girls group.

Mossips honey

I had so much fun at Mossips honey, I could not find the queen bee.

Music with Lester and Ngaires

Lester and Ngaires came and sang and played music to us . I really liked the songs they sand and I had such a fun time.

Piano

I really like playing this little piano, it makes lots of noise to.

Fish n chips

We had a yummy fish and chip lunch last Friday. They were so good...

Flower power

Today at the centre we had a special visit from a florist. I made a clip for my hair.

Girls group

I love having the massager going on my back it is so relaxing

Another week of soup...pumpkin

this week our group made pumpkin soup. Who knew that pumpkin was a fruit? Everyone who came into the room said it smelled yummy. It put me in a good mood this afternoon.

Thunder

Today in sensory I liked listening to the wind and thunder and listening to the crackle and pop of the fireplace. I also played with our winter themed sensory blanket.

Six weeks of soup

Today's cooking session I helped to make leftover roast chicken and vege soup. It smells so yummy.

Pastel painting

Today we practiced for my abstract painting. We used pastels to smudge and rub on paper. 

Mid winter dinner

On Friday we had mid winter Christmas dinner with lots of yummy food and a game of pass the parcel. So much fun!

Personal books

During personal books, I stand in my frame. I can help my key person select photos for my pages. I love to listen to some exciting music while I am standing. 

Piano

In music I have been playing the piano alongside my friends. We have been playing the piano and the drums to my friends CD, The Bee Gees. I love to feel the keys under my fingers and I really enjoy listening to the music.

Art

I am doing hand over hand sewing with Kayla. We are making a sensory game.
